New E-Mail Scam: Fake H1N1 Vaccination Registration Program

Beware of the latest e-mail scam that inpersonated as correspondence from CDC.  The e-mail will lead you to click on links and unaware of the situation, you actually download Banker Trojan into your computer, which steals your username and password when you do your online banking.   An example of the e-mail is shown below.

Please take note that there are more than one type of e-mail which can lure you into their scam.  Following are a few of the differences you should take note:

1)  Subject line

~ Governmental registration program on the H1N1 vaccination
~ Creation of your personal Vaccination Profile
     ~ State Vaccination H1N1 Program

2)  Malicious website links

If you click the link, you will be directed to the scammer’s website that reads:

Your Personal H1N1 Vaccinating Profile is an electronic document, which contains your name, your contact details and your medical data (what kind of illnesses you have sustained in your childhood or what kind of allergy you have to some certain drug). All instructions you need are included in the archive below:

The archive link points to a file named ‘vacc_profile.exe’ or ‘vacc_profile’ for computer users who do not have file extension viewing enabled.

Since not all antivirus can detect this new malicious software, please do not click on any link that requires you to download file.
