Is Soy Safe for Consumption?

From all the advertisements about soy products, everyone knows that soy is good for our health. It can prevents cancer, lower cholesterol level, build healthy bones, etc., but newest research done on soy has proven the opposites.

The findings are as follows:

1) Phytic acid in soy can distort human growth and can’t be gotten rid of by washing
cooking.

2) Soy can causes the body to increase need for Vitamin D, which is needed for strong
and well-balanced bones.

3) Soy can prevent body from absorbing prescribed medication for people with thyroid
problems.

4) Estrogen in soy foods can cause young girls to hit puberty early before their time
and is also known for upsetting growth of the brains and the bodies of little boys.

5) Continual consumption of soy will increase the risk of cancer for girls and infertility
for boys.

6) Abnormal proteins in processed soy foods may cause cancerous cells to form within
the body. It is advised to consume natural soy foods instead.

Despite the negative side of soy, it is not necessarily to stop taking soy completely. Moderation approach on soy consumption will do us just fine. Tofu or soy milk once a week can do good to us rather than harm (just don’t drink 2 litres of soy milk a day, ok?)

Healthy Tips

Listed here are a few tips to maintain healthy, which I had read from Women’s Weekly magazine.  I find it interesting and hope that you will sharing this information with your friends and family so everybody can live a healthy lifestyle. NO, NO, NO!  According to Duke University Medical Centre researchers, when a person with Type 2 diabetes drank 4 cups worth of caffeine, their blood sugar levels rose by 8%.  So, diabetes patients better quit drinking coffee and tea.

Understand Your Body

I’m always on the look out for ways to live healthyly.  Today as I read through Cleo magazine, I saw a few tips of how to keep your body & brain in the tip top condition.

1)  Think fast.  If you have negative thoughts about yourself , try to exercise your brain by listing 10 dream vacation destinations in 60 seconds, or say 30 words that begin with   your favourite letter.

2) Do yoga.  According to American Journal of Public Health, yoga helps in fighting flab by supporting endocrine & thyroid function which lowers cortisol, the stress hormone that accumulates fat around the waist.  Want more info on yoga?  Visit www.iyogalife.com.

3)  Drink 8 glasses of water daily.  We know this well enough that water helps in flushing out toxin in our body.   At recent study, water can helps decrease the risk of bladder cancer and colon cancer.

4)  Appoint for body massage.  According to licenced massage therapists, allowing someone else to touch your body can help you become more comfortable & at peace with your body.

5)  Take enough antioxidant.  In order to have a disease-free body, you need lots of antioxidant to fight free radicals.  Free radicals can be resulted from stress, whether physically or environmentally.  Uncontrolled free radicals activity has been linked to cancer, diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson, Arthiritis, strokes and DNA damage. It is from Denham Harman’s (a physician and chemist) theory that he mentioned the cumulative damage caused by free radicals was largely reponsible for the aging prcess.

How I Become Healthier

Hi, I have a piece of experience that i would like to SHARE WITH ALL OF U. Since childhood i had to see a doctor almost once every 2 weeks.  Why?  Coz i can get flu and cough and sore troat very easily.  I was weak.

After I reached the age of 21, I started to control what I eat.  I avoided deep-fried & spicy foods, and took more vege.  Since then, I felt more healthy and only caught flu about 3 – 4 times a year. 

About 2 years ago, I started to have gastric problem.  I had to eat foods whenever I feel hungry.  Even before i went to sleep, i must had supper, or not i would wake up in the middle of night feeling hungry and must eat in order to help me get back to sleep.  Oh, I also had sleeping problem.  If I woke up in midnight, sometimes i need 1 to 2 hours to get back to sleep (and this happened since 3 years ago).  Besides the above, I had headache and backache everytime 4 days before my menstrual period begin.

But, since I drank a bottle of fruit blend 1 month ago, all the pains and gastric disappeared.  Now I feel I have more energy, can sleep well (hurray!), no more gastric pain and no more supper (which helps in losing weight!)
